Description
During this 1.5 hour session you will learn-
- How to draw your own embroidery designs on paper
- How to transfer your drawing from paper to fabric
- How to use an embroidery hoop for stitching your design
- How to thread a needle
- How to sew a simple back stitch
- How to cast off a stitch
- How to back your finished design with felt once complete
You will be provided with your own Embroidery Kit containing paper, transfer paper, 4 inch embroidery hoop, fabric, needle, needle threader, embroidery threads and felt. All contained in a small box so you can take them away with you after.
At the end of the 1.5 hour session you will be able to take your embroidery kit home with you to finish. You will be able to complete sewing your design using the skills learnt during the workshop. To finish your embroidered piece, you will just need to insert the piece of felt that comes in your kit and sew up the fabric at the back. I will give you access to my online video showing you exactly how to do this.
If you decide you would like to carry on embroidering more designs at home, I will have needles, threads, hoops and scissors, as well as other ready made DIY Embroidery Kits (which come with online video tutorials) for you to buy so you can continue doing your new hobby during the school holidays and weekends. Payment will be taken by debit or credit card using my SumUp machine. You can see all the kits currently available on my website shop here- DIY Embroidery Kits
If embroidery really does take your fancy and you enjoy doing it as part of a group, please take a look at the other sessions I will be running in Stockport during the school holidays. Mondays at Marple Library and Fridays at Cheadle Library. They are all listed in the Workshops section of my website shop here- Embroidery Workshops
