Saturday Sewing Club @ Moorish- 9.45am Classes

Dates: Saturday Mornings

4th November – 25th November (4 weeks of Classes)

Time: 9.45am – 10.45am

Venue: Moorish Coffee Shop, 467 Buxton Road, Great Moor. SK2 7HE

Sewing Club Projects

Every half term we try a different type of sewing project. This includes learning new stitches, using different fabric types and changing from 2D to 3D projects. All sewing projects are based on the principle that we design them ourselves on paper first. This way, children learn to develop their design skills as well as their sewing skills.

They will finish each half term with their own unique keepsakes to bring home.

Who runs the class?

I’m Kelly, an Embroidery Designer and Tutor and I specialise in teaching children (and Grown-Ups!) how to embroider their own artwork.

I’ve been embroidering children’s drawings and loved one’s handwriting on my embroidery machine at home since 2014.

In 2022, I decided to venture out and started teaching classes at various venues in Stockport for Adults and Children. I now run regular Sewing Club Classes privately and in Schools. I am fully insured with an enhanced DBS certificate.

This Half Term’s Projects-

During Autumn 2 we will be designing and sewing our own personalised Christmas decorations. Children attending all 4 sessions can choose between designing their own hoop decoration or a felt star, heart or Christmas Tree. Depending how fast they sew, they could do both in 4 weeks.

Recommended Age-

The recommended age for children attending my Saturday Sewing Club Classes is 7+ years old

Please note-

This session is a group activity for up to 8 children sewing in total. It is not individual tuition so children must be comfortable learning in a group setting. Parents are encouraged to stay on the premises and enjoy a drink, cake or breakfast upstairs in the main Coffee Shop area. The class will be held in the basement level meeting room, with direct access to a toilet.
