£40.00

Dates: Saturday Mornings

Time: 9.45am – 10.45am

Venue: Moorish Coffee Shop, 467 Buxton Road, Great Moor. SK2 7HE

What do children do at Sewing Club?

Every half term we try a different type of sewing project. This includes learning new stitches, using different fabric types and changing from 2D to 3D projects. All sewing projects are based on the principle that we design them ourselves on paper first. This way, children learn to develop their design skills as well as their sewing skills.

They will finish each half term with their own unique keepsakes to bring home.

This Term’s Projects-

Summer 2- We will be sewing cushions using the flowers we created last term to decorate them. Depending on your child’s age and ability, I have 2 choices of cushion sizes. I am also planning on showing them on a sewing machine how to sew a simple cushion, so that they could do more at home if they have a Sewing Machine.

I will have examples to inspire the children, but they will all come up with their own designs.

Who runs the class?

I’m Kelly, an Embroidery Designer and Tutor and I specialise in teaching children (and Grown-Ups!) how to embroider their own artwork.

I’ve been embroidering children’s drawings and loved one’s handwriting on my embroidery machine at home since 2014.

In 2022, I decided to venture out and started teaching classes at various venues in Stockport for Adults and Children. I now run regular Sewing Club Classes privately and in Schools. I am fully insured with an enhanced DBS certificate.

Recommended Age-

The recommended age for children attending my Saturday Sewing Club Classes is 7+ years old

Please note-

This session is a group activity for up to 8 children sewing in total. It is not individual tuition so children must be comfortable learning in a group setting. Parents are encouraged to stay on the premises and enjoy a drink, cake or breakfast upstairs in the main Coffee Shop area. The class will be held in the basement level meeting room, with direct access to a toilet.
